From the maker

I don't expect anyone to actually make this cause thats gotta be months of work, but I was curious to how a piece of drawn artwork of mine would translate to a pattern. If you do wanna make it, I won't hold it against you if you choose to simplify it.

About this technique

Tapestry crochet works a picture in rows of single crochet, carrying the colours you are not using inside the stitches. Each square of the grid is one stitch, so the chart reads like pixel art, and the same grid also works for intarsia, graphgan blankets and knitting.
